Dear Jussta, All of his friends
and family appreciate all of your work putting this all together. All our
gratitude for your time and love with all our hearts. As you know how he was
so humbled by seeing so much that you got from the world wide web. He was so
surprised anyone knew him at all. You really shocked and made his day seeing
all you put down in print. I think he was the most humble person I have ever
known. Sincerely, Enid
You are so very welcome, Enid. It gave
me such great satisfaction to see the look on Chuck's face when he turned the
pages of the book I created of Chuck Domanico on the World Wide Web. It gave
me great joy to see him share it with his close friends at your home. These
are the moments I cherish. I look forward to the day I will have it published
with many more things I want to add which I know both you and Chuck will
love. My prayers have been with you.
Love, Light, and Only Blessings, Jussta
To Enid, Jussta, and the Domanico family, and friends,
My sincere and heartfelt condolences.
Chuck was and will always be a great spirit to me and all of us that
knew him as a person and great musician. When I walked into a session I was
always elated to see Chuck there. I knew right away the date would be fun and
musical no matter what we were recording. What a treat on those rare occasions
when there was some jazz based material, Chuck's groove was deep and swinging,
remarkable in feeling and commitment. Chuck never fell into a musical rut
which can easily happen when your working double sessions everyday. He was
current and aware of all music and loved to hear the real thing. Chuck was
always interested and supportive of musicians trying to pursue their own
voice. I will never forget him for his enthusiastic encouragement. He was a
warm, giving and a hip cat. I loved him and will miss him dearly.

ever imagine knowing. It was a great privilege and inspiration being with him.

I wrote this for Chuck when I made
his Web Site book last July before coming to San Miguel de Allende. Tears
streamed from his eyes as he read it...oh, God, how I loved and cherished him
and I miss him so much!

Dear Enid,
Adrian & I are so shocked to hear
about Chuck. We had no idea that he was battling lung cancer.
I just can't believe that he is
gone. I'm having trouble putting my thoughts together. I just don't know
what to say. Can't stop crying.
Jussta's tribute to Chuck is so
beautiful. I just keep looking at all of the pictures.
I hope that you get this e-mail.
Our computer crashed and we lost all. I found this in one of our old
computers.
Our thoughts, prayers, love are
being sent to you.
Don't know what else to say.
I just know that Chuck was the
best there was. I will cherish all of my memories of him. He was just a
young man when I first met him. He was so much fun, and so full of love.
His talent was huge, and he had a big dream of leaving Chicago and moving to
California to try to make it in the music business.
Well, he fulfilled his dream.
Along with that, he met the love of his life, you, Enid. You were
Soulmates. It doesn't get any better than that. I am so glad that we were
able to visit both you and Chuck a few years ago. We had such a great time,
and it was so good to see the both of you. I've been looking at the
pictures from our visit. It was a happy time.
Boy, I am going to miss him! He
was so special!
Please be sure to tell Chris and
Randy , and all of Chuck's family that we are keeping them in our thoughts
and prayers.
I hope that you will contact us
when you can. In the meantime, how blessed you are to have Jussta in your
life. What a great friend she is. I will be checking me mail to get
updates from her concerning the date of the memorial service, and also the
date of the tribute to Chuck on the radio station.
We are sending all of our love,
Denise & Adrian Watts
Jussta-
I would love to have this piece included in the Friends' Thoughts and Feelings
page. And thank you, Jussta, for doing this work for Chuck's family.
I've known Chuck for 3 decades.
Musically, it is well known, and widely agreed, that he was a warm, strong
force, a unique musical voice, of the highest excellence. We lose that when
we lose Chuck.
But he was a warm, strong, voice personally as well. He had opinions about
past and current trends, and opinions about individuals and their motivations,
throughout his career... negative when justified, and wholeheartedly positive
when justified... and Chuck was always willing to say what he thought and
felt, right out loud, for everyone to hear. This made him a leader, a
reminder to us all to pay attention, and to protect what we love. He was a
mentor to us all. We all lose now that Chuck has passed.
Personally, I miss his smile, his warm hello, his joy. I miss you, Chuck.

Dear Jussta:
Our hearts are with you in your loss and we celebrate the life of Chuck and
his wonderful playing. I met Chuck almost thirty years ago in Chicago when he
was practicing to become the world class musician that he became. Chuck is
still an inspiration. After years of raising a family and working hard, I have
tried to reconnect to some people from my youth. I recently reconnected with
an old friend named Bob Paolinelli who first introduced me to Chuck back in
the 60's over at the Domanico home at Harlem and Foster in Chicago. I think we
listened to Ravel in the basement, and afterwards Bob gave me a music theory
lesson. Chuck called Bob "The Prov"( having to do with cheese), and after
speaking to Bob again after 30+ years I called Bob "the Prov" and I asked him
how Chuck was doing. Bob told me that Chuck gave him that name "Prov", and
that Chuck had passed away last year. I looked on the Internet and saw your
web site. Please accept my condolences. I was a fan and knew of Chuck's
playing with one of my inspirations, Shelley Manne. What wonderful friends
Chuck has nurtured throughout his career. May God bless and keep you. We
shall keep the faith, and the music playing. Sincerely yours, Tom Brenner
