Chuck Sends A Message

I was living in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico (Central Mexico) and spoke with Chuck on the telephone the day he died.  He was always worried about how he would 'get through' from Spirit to let Enid and everyone he knew that he was all right after he passed.  I told him that he could talk to me and I would tell Enid and the world, if need be.

Chuck sent a message and I have told Enid, now it is time to tell the world, and assure all of his friends and fans.

I hopped a plane from central Mexico and got off the plane running to help Enid get everything ready for his Memorial Service and for his Celebration of Life.

I was working on the collage boards of photos and I also wanted another board with blank sheet music for the guests to sign.  Enid yelled to me from the other room that I could find more sheet music in the piano bench.

I opened the piano bench and was lifting up sheet music and folders when some sheet music literally 'jumped' out of the middle of other papers and fell on my feet.

I looked down and picked up the sheet music.  It was something Jeremy Lubbock had arranged and Neil Diamond had autographed personally to her.  It had no words on the sheet music, since, of course, it was for the Bass for Chuck!  The title was, "My Heart Will Go On".Chuck's Gold Records on living room wall.

I KNEW this message was from Chuck - anyone who was around the house, I kept asking, do you know the words to this song?  Who sang it?  I would ask Enid, but she was grieving and could not even think.

I actually brought the sheet music to the Memorial Service and then to Chuck's Celebration of Life and asked over the microphone if anyone knew, "My Heart Will Go On".  Nothing.  Nada response.  Then Enid told me that Jeremy Lubbock had just left before I made the announcement.  It was just not meant to be that night.

I was staying at Enid and Chuck's.  I asked a friend to keep Enid overnight with her for at least one or two nights while I straightened the house and rearranged the Memorial Flowers into bouquets.  I was filing Chuck's CDs in new racks I had bought when, I promise you, it is true, a CD jumped out of the midst of a tall pile.  Once again, I bent to pick it up.  It was  Neil Diamond The Movie Album!  I read the CD cover and all I could say was, "Oh my God!  Hello Chuck!"  I quickly put it in the CD player and sat down to listen to the words.  I sobbed through the song - I knew Chuck was speaking directly to me - and I was to share this with everyone.  It never occurred to me that this was the same song from Titanic!

My Heart Will Go On - Arrangement by Jeremy Lubbock

Autographed by Neil Diamond - My Heart Will Go OnEvery night in my dreams,
I see you, I feel you.
That is how I know you go on.
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you're the one.
I believe that the heart does go on.

Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
Love can touch us one time
And last for a life time
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold you
In my life, we'll always go on
Near, Far, Where ever you are
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.
You're here, there's nothing I fear
Cause I know that my heart will go on and on
And on, and on, and on
My heart will go on and on!

I cannot tell you how many times I have played this song, over and over.  I know Chuck wanted us all to know we are in his heart and his heart will go on.

I cannot think of one single song that would have been more appropriate for Chuck to send as a message of love.
